Experience the Wild Mountain
Lovers of the Vallouise Valley and the Glacier Blanc, we are delighted to welcome you to the Pré de Madame Carle, whether for a moment of conversation, a drink, a meal, or an overnight stay.
The Pré de Madame Carle is the gateway to the Écrins National Park and the starting point for hiking in summer or ski touring in spring.
The chalet refuge at the Pré de Madame Carle is located at the foot of Mont Pelvoux and the Écrins, above the hamlet of Ailefroide, precisely where the Glacier Noir and the Glacier Blanc once met. It is the natural base camp for exploring this legendary place and easily venturing towards the glaciers.
By staying at the Pré de Madame Carle refuge, you will have the opportunity to observe mountain wildlife outside the busy hours of the day. What a wonder it is to see chamois and marmots reclaim their territory.
